Company History & Mission
Cascade
Billing Center was created in 1992 by its two
owners Patricia Teabo and Dave
Anderson in Tumwater,
WA. Patty and Dave were
the only two employees when it began, but had a lot of
help from family members including Patty’s daughter-in-law,
Cindy, who is still employed at Cascade. Starting out
of Patty's home, they took turns on their only computer
and licked stamps to
mail
claims
and statements. Times
were tough in the beginning trying to pay bills, provide
quality service and develop the company.
In the next couple of years,
they added several more computers (no more having to
share!) ,
employees
and clients to
the point where the garage could not contain their growth
any longer. Cascade moved into a 1400 square
foot office that sometimes had only three people
in it.
With the complicated atmosphere of insurance billing,
the need for our service was growing. With their attention
to detail and pursuing claim denials, word of mouth was
now bringing in most of Cascade's new clients. They no
longer had to make sales calls and were struggling
to keep
up with the work.
After three years, Cascade has expanded
twice and moved into a new office space. They
currently have enough employees that an office manager
was added just to manage
them all . Cascade was getting clients all over
western Washington, and were now growing to be one of
the larger
billing
services in the state. By 1998, they were billing
over $15 million
annually for their clients. Today, they continually
update and
perfect their systems and procedures to perform their
service in
the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.
In 2002 Cascade, again, outgrew their
space and moved into a brand new large office space. They
now have over 30 employees, and in 2002 they charged
over $35.8 million for their
clients. Even with that volume, they still give each
of their clients a personal touch. Cascade has designed
superbills, patient intake sheets, and advised on coding,
pricing
and insurance credentialing.
